This website hosts no user uploads. If you believe something on it infringes your rights, tell us and we remove it within 24 hours.

What this site shows

Every image and typeface on beachsignal.com is listed with its author, source and licence on the credits page. The site has no accounts, comments or uploads, so nothing on it comes from other users. Sargassum Check has its own copyright and takedown page for the photos and data it shows.

Image removal

If you hold rights in an image or text on this site, or act for someone who does, and object to its use, email contact@beachsignal.com with the page address, which item, and a sentence saying you hold the rights or act for the holder. That is enough: we remove the item within 24 hours of your email and do not argue fair use.

You may also send a notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)) to the same address. It should contain:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
  3. the material on this site and where it is (its page address);
  4. your name, postal address, telephone number and email;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

A notice missing an element still gets an answer naming what is missing, and if it identifies the material we remove it anyway.

Counter-notices

If material you supplied to us was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice with your signature, the removed material and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and telephone number, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or Delaware if you are outside the United States), and your agreement to accept service of process from the person who sent the notice or their agent. We forward it to the sender of the original notice and restore the material 10 to 14 business days later unless they tell us they have gone to court.

Repeat infringers

We stop using material from any source that is the subject of repeated valid notices. This site accepts no contributions, so it has no contributor accounts to suspend; Sargassum Check's own terms cover its contributors.
